    Timing chain noise?

If it is the chain if you put a long screwdriver against the cover and to your ear you will know....I also agree to unbolt the converter and run it. The flexplate could be a cheap fix.

    Brake Advice

Charlie, Thank you for the links, great info. Scot, full shop for fabrication, no problem. I would prefer to look at retrofit from another vehicle vs. paying top dollar for upgrade. This is a daily driver for my son and is giving him great experience. Last year we went thru the motor with him...

What in God's name happened to my Fuel pump and Harness??

Chuck has it right. High resistance from either the pump or the grounds causes amperage to climb, melting the wires. This is not unheard of. The reason the tank does not explode is that you need fuel, spark and oxygen for combustion. Inside a tank there is very little of the latter.

    Charging problem... i think...

I am with Nick here. Check the voltage at the alternator when the scanmaster reads low. This will verify a bad ground path causing a false reading or indeed a charging issue.

    Gremlins..

Ford has a "wiggle" test in their diagnostics. Wiggle the key while running, the harness on the column, the connector at the base of the column. Maybe it will act up and isolate your issue.

New Kirban 200 amp alternator reading 15 plus volts on scan master.

Before you go sending the alternator back, try a known good battery and recheck your voltage levels.

New Weber Built Long Block Leaks Oil

Don't mean to be a downer but verify or have someone verify it is the oil pan gasket leaking and not the rear main, timing cover, etc. If you have a more serious leak you have a more difficult (expensive) repair. A reasonable request to the builder will be handled better than an upset...

    Control arm bushings

If your bushings are ok you will not notice much difference. There are stiffer performance bushings to reduce deflection. Most will not notice. If your bushings are the originals they will be drying out and will tear and come apart. You are already there, change them. I used stock replacements...
