Replacing carpet in my '87 GN. Service manual shows 4 screws 2 in glove box and 2 under ashtray. whats holding it down?? When removing the seat 1 stud snapped on the rear. Can it be replaced and how?

On the console, remove the handle, ash tray and the top plate. Then the screws that hold the console can be removed. The seat stud is another matter :(

Just for a little more clarification the two other bolts you are missing are right infront of the shifter once you take off the metal plate around the shifter. I just completed changing my carpet too.

How much is left of the stud? Is there enough to use a stud cam lock extractor, or are you looking at something broken at floor level? If it is at floor level, you may end up having to carefully drill into the stud, with larger and larger bits, until you can tap the remaining material from the hole.
