Everyone has a diference in opinion.Right now im running 26 inch Drags,im runnin 11.82 to 12.00 all in the 111 to 113 mph range.60 foots vary. Now what can i expect from putting on 28 inch tires? What is going to change? Will it be ET or MPH or both. Lets hear some opinions please.

Yeah you're at a level where is should be quicker all around with 28's...I'd go for it.

"stangkiller", going from 26" tires to 28" will give you slower 60' times, but better top end speed at less or equal rpm's...It's not generally recommended to use a tire that's too tall if you have a mostly stock car with only a few bolt-ons. I would stick with the 26's if I were you, but it's your choice... :) Maybe you can ask a buddy of yours to lend you a set for a run or two, that would help you decide...

See the info and debate here on 28" vs 26"
Tire Comparison

The 28" tire has been good for me on a mostly stock setup, running 28x9 MT ET Drags.

Hey tim87tr. I couldnt get to your website there in your link. Im interested in your setup and the 28 tall tire cause i have sort of a dilemma myself.

Have a 26 tall, nearly used up but make due. She wont hold traction above 17psi. I got a 12.9 at that boost and the 60' was 1.8. the mph is 104 but didnt tune and it was running slightly rich so I know more mph is there.

I can pick up 28s for cheap, and if you say its workn for you, I may give it a try.

The link worked for me but anyway the site is www.geocities.com/tim87tr I used to have the car mods on there but don't anymore. It's just the basic stuff like fuel pump, adj regulator, etc. I ran a cheap $25 Thrasher 100 chip on 110 octane and 21 lb boost. That link I posted on the tires kind of explains the 28" tire. Email me if you want anymore info.

Why not use the M/T 27 in tall tires..I would think they might be the best of both worlds..I know they are availble in the M/T et streets but not sure on the drags..also I think hoosier has some 27 inchers..
