Does this work? I tried a search and didn't come up with any real answers. Somebody said that a 275/50-15 would work, would the 60s? Thanks.

I put them on my car with 1/4" back space.. on a 90K car with stock everything including shocks.. Both sides hit on the inside.. and the passenger side was hitting from time to time on the outside!! New 15x8.5 rims with 4 inch backspace.. New shocks, New springs, and new air bags with only 5lbs in them and now nothing hits anywhere. The tire is a big one and fills the wheel well up nice!

The 275x60 are NOT as wide as the 50s. They are taller. Just a tad under 28" while the 275x50 are right at 26".
The 50's can be made to work with little or no problems.

The 60s should fit with no trouble or spacers.

When you say little or no problems, what do you mean. And, what are spacers? Can they affect performance or damage car? I also would like to put 275 5 15 Nittos on my stock rims. Chris

i use them and love them. I get a little rub if i yank the car hard in a turn like trying to let the back end out a little, but other than that no rubbing. I've pulled a 1.72 60 ft on them and drive them in any weather. They are one of the best rain tires ive ever had on the GN. Puts my radial TAs to shame. BTW my suspension is stock and i have no spacers.

I have 275/60/15 BFG DR's on the stock 15x7 wheels. Both tires used to rub on the frame going around turns (any turn over 5mph). Ever since I installed boxed stock LCA's, they've never rubbed. There's probably 1/2" of clearance, too!

Thanks, Jim. Two questions: what is the stock size? Will the 275 50 15 Nitto fit my stock rims without rubbing? All of my suspension is stock. Chris

hmm may rub hard to tell on how your car sits and the rims. I got lucky I got the new rims and put the Nitto's on them so that way if they rubbed I was able to take them off and put my BFG's back on til I had the combo right. Some guys run the 50's and some the 60's

The way I understand from what I've read so far, since the 60 is a taller tire the bow out will be less of an issue, that's why more people can run the 60s. Plus, it makes more sense from a grip standpoint to run the 60s, there doesn't seem to be too much debate on that issue.
