I WOULDN'T GO ANY BIGGER THAT A TE63 WITH THAT STALL I WOULD THINK... BUT I KNOW A GUY USING A TE45A WITH THAT STALL AND HE LIKES IT (I THINK THE LAG IS CRAPPY)

tons of people run a te45a (66mm) with a 3500 9" converter and are happy. that's probably about the limit though.

how about a pt 70 turbo-would it need more stall. i thought alot of people were using the 3500 for 70 turbos.

talk to someone with that combo and see. sounds big for that converter to me. might be ok BB. also depends on how 'streetable' you wanted it to be.

Keep in mind that the stall will vary with the turbo you are running. So if you get that 3500 stall for your PTE-54 as you were asking about in another thread, when you bolt up a 70 series turbo down the road it will stall a lot higher. A converter that stalls at 3500 with a 54 will take you a while to outgrow. ;)

I ran a 70bb turbo with a 3500 stall and had instant spool. I've never owner a big shaft non bb turbo, but with the way the bb turbo spooled I would think you could get away with it. OBTW I ran a 66bb with a 3k stall and had almost instant spool too.
