I have a couple 4.1 motors out of the big body buicks that I have been saving. Probably around 1981-1984 models, I cant remember. What numbers do I look for and where are they? Should I keep them for spare blocks?? Can I use this block for a rebuild or just rebuild my 3.8 tbo??

I'd save the the 4.1 block in case you ever have plans to do a big bore V6 buick. The cranks are the same as the turbo cranks however they will need to be rebalanced when using. The block Id #s can be found on the left side. The 1983 & 1984 are the blocks of choice, due to upgrades in the oiling passages & revised for a knock sensor. The last 3 numbers of the casting for those years are 291 & 484

edit...

PS core 4.1's have a value of $150-$200 if you plan to sell. More if sonic checked.
