Alright guys, I'm going to "unstock" my mainly "stock" 87 now. I've got a few questions. I've got a 4.1 block with the casting # 255C6484 does anyone know how I can find out what this came out of?
If all goes as planned this will be my combo:
4.1 Block
Champion P-n-P
50# Injectors
Pte 52
Vigilante Converter/PMAC Tranny
plus the other usuals.
What cam would you recommend? What intercooler would you recommend ?

Thanks
RS;)

why get a 52 when there are known problems with the exaust side of the 51 and 52 turbo's???

especially on a 4.1 need to get up in the 60 series and if i could start over again the smallest upgrade turbo above a te-44 or ta 49 would be a 63 which is the smallest of the big shaft turbo's which will be much more durable

Not going to comment on exact turbo selection, but, the 4.1L motor is around 10% bigger than the 3.8L motor, so keep in mind when buying parts(injs, turbo, cam) that you will need at least 10% bigger than you're used to thinking about when building a 3.8L...

I've got the pte52 already. I haven't ruled out going after a bigger turbo.

Thanks
RS

82 blocks have small oil pump feed gallies. The 83 and 84 blocks have the same size feed as the 86-87 Turbo 3.8s Your going to need to machine that galley to the larger size to ensure adequate oil flow. You might want to try and find a 83 or 84 block.

What are your goals with a 4.1? U might be better off sticking with a 3.8 turbo block.;)
