which rear end gear would be better for a low 11 to high 10 sec car . what would be the difference between mph and 1/4 time . and would they both be streetable.

3.42 there is no such things like changing gears on our cars...it's not a Mustang world we live in ;)

yup gotta leave the chevy mentality at home with these cars. the 3.42s are fine even down in the 9's.

Stick with the 3.42's for sure !!!!
You wanna tweak the ratio some if the tach is not where u want it going through the traps, then change your tire height 26, 26.5, 27, etc.

I did the 4:11 thing in my 86GN about 7 years ago. It was fun when the car was stock but held it back once I started making power. I quickly went back to the stock 3:42 gears and a taller (28") rear tire.
I would leave it alone and spend the money else where.;)

I have run both the 3.42, 3.73 and 3.90s.
I would have to say that in most cases you are
better off with the stock 3.42 gearing.

On one of the race cars that I work with we are
stepping down from 3.89 to 3.60 to try and pick
up MPH.

3.90's...

I have a good set of 3.90's for sale...: $100 ;) Just to let you know if someone wants a set...
Thahks, 'bye!
Claude :)
