has anyone had any problems with these leaking down? i will be going on my 3rd set soon.first time i replaced them was due to a lot of black smoke and soot on first startup and again this year i am getting the soot and a little black smoke from the tail pipes.when i pulled the plugs the #6 and #2 pugs were wet with fuel.is this common for this style injector to fail this way? any help would be greatly appreaciated!

From the way you tell the story....I conclude that Your problem may not be the injectors. Do you have any scan tool readings? Which chip are you using?

My number 1 did that. Switched it to the number 2 and still did it. You'll have to check the injector harness for shorting (often against the EGR). Could be the ECM or something between the it and the cam sensor. Bottom line is, yes, they can leak but I've heard its rare and usually something else causing the problem. Could possibly be inherent with the 50's I really don't know.

If you have one of the older sets, send them out to have them cleaned and flowed. If there's a problem with some of them you'll find out.

Or your Drives might be shot in your computer. It will keep frying injectors one by one.

I dont think it is an electrical problem cause the fuel pressure bleeds off slow.takes about 10 minutes to bleed down to zero.i disconected the injectors and still the same thing.so i am guessing another bad set of injectors for me.just wierd to have 2 sets go out in a couple of years, but i only drive it about 2k a year.
