50lbers will be fine, injector duty cycle will be on low side, get chip for that size injector. gives ya room to grow later on if need be.

thats what i thought. i went right from stock turbo to a 63 with 55lbers with my last gn and did not want to mod the ecm this time around. i want to stay a little easier with the entire car this go around.

do you know if the stock boost selnoid will work with a 49? and maybe just add a bleed valve? again last time i went right to a th dp and this time i went with a stock type 3"dp

That's what I had when I bought my 'T'(TA49/stock boost solenoid). It worked fine(w/adjustable wastegate actuator, and THDP). The RJC boost controller was a major improvement though. ;)

so when you got the car it was fine with the 49 and stock solenoid? then you upgraded to a th and it was good as well?

What kinda boost u planning on running? 50lbers where the thing awhile back and still is,but alky and boost in 24lb ranges will probably put those 50lbers near 100% dutycycle. Many guys have moved to 60lbers and w/correct chip has made car very drivable.I guess its up to you what the cars final outcome will be.

Should not be a problem. Mine is fairly stock with normal upgrades (fuel pump, adjustable FP & boost, 3" Houston DP & Hooker exhaust, etc) & runs great with 60 pounders. Key is good chip. Call Eric first, (don't have number, think address is Turbotweak, can find number/site elsewhere in this web site) & he'll build chips around your set up.

36 lbs, would be fine for that
what ever is the cheapest
36's and a 49 is a proven combo,
lots os 11 sec, runs

You can't run #24 with 93-94 octane,18 may even be a stretch. Safe bet is 13-16 psi with no knock. I have seen 18 lbs with my GN ,but it has ported heads dut neck IC and a VDO boost gauge(VDO's can be inaccurate). :)

i used to run reds chips all the time 18-21 psi and never had knock issiues only differnece with this build i am planing is a atr 2 1/2" front mount and a larger turbo. i think with the right timing and fuel 20-21 psi should not be a problem at all maybe some more.

With the chip technology today there is soimplt no reasoin to run anything less than a 50 lb injector ther is no loss in drivability or mileage. The 60lb units tune and drive better IMO and we use them in everything unless they are too small.

I've run 60's with a stock turbo, and they were fine.
Most of the alleged *injector problems* go back to when people really didn't have much experience with them.

I have the 60s on my Junk Driver and they work just fine!
I do have a little too much timing in the chip though.
Mike can you help a brother out?

still looking for the answer to ---has anyone used a stock selenoid with a 49 and stock type dp to control boost as stock--or even if you have this set up and have to use a bleed valve--

thanks
