Might be selling my trans from my car.. Had Ronnie at Century put a shift kit in it..been out of the car for about 6 months I put about 50 miles on it in the last 1 1/2. Very clean , shifts hard:eek: perfect trans.. What kind of money could it bring? Thanks!

Just my thought

Seems like you would want to keep a matching number trans with the car? I would think it would be worth more to you than anyone. The car is consider fairly low miles at 61k....I'd keep the trans, just my $.02

Yeah.. I have been fighting with it.. I probably will just keep it..

never heard of matching numbers on TRs. has something changed? All of the casting numbers are the same I believe.

What? Get out of dodge. So, you're telling me TRs can have matching number trannies.. but, not engines? Who's the dork at Buick who thought that up? I've gotta tell you -- looking for a "matching trans" would be the last thing I'd ever look for in a TR.

just my .02

This is something I have always wondered. When they talk about a "numbers matching" car. I have a tranny from another TR installed in my car. So now I dont have a numbers matching car? I didn't see a vin number on the case anywhere.

I've never heard this either. Does anyone have some pics:confused: I put a new trans in mine as well, but I could get my orig. back if this is the case:cool:

Yes. Both tranny and engine have the last so many (I THINK it's the last six)Vin digits on them. And I assume in the future numbers matching low mileage cars will bring premiums.

I don't think it will mean to much to future buyers. Look at all the NON matching numbers muscle cars bringing $30-$40K. If it's a 396 Chevelle and it's got a CORRECT looking 396, then it will bring $$$$. I can't tell ya how many 1972 Challengers with 440's, HEMI's, and 340 sixpacks on Ebay bringing stupid money. NONE of these engines were ever offered in a 72 Challenger!! Years ago it did mean something, but unless its a super rare car, well draw your on conclusions. Just my 02.......KTB

I think IMO, the LC2 has the same effect on the regals as the 396's for chevelles. So I guess I need to retrieve my old trans. to keep all my orig. stuff together
