Hey guys, Im looking into converting my 85 GN over to more of an 87 setup. The main thing I want to convert is the ECM, so I can have a greater acess to chips and use of scanmaster. What Im curious about is, do I also have to convert the ignition module too? If so, I was looking at a product with this description: "New GM/Magnavox-Style Ignition Module with Ignition Coil for use on 1984 and 1985 Buick 3.8 V-6 Engines. This offer includes a New Ignition Module, a (New UPGRADED Coil), Coil Adapter Plate, Gaskets and Screws assembled and ready to install. Please note the module has four (4) mounting studs on the bottom. This package is a replacement for the earliest GM DIS-Ignitions as used on the Buick Regal T-Type Turbo and Grand National 3.8L 231cid V6. Ignition Module is (GM/Magnavox 25518358) (Wells Mfg DR176) Please Note A New Coil & Adapter Plate (Wells CB5) are Included with this Package. This Adaptation Upgrades the Coil to the 1986 and later design while providing the original 84-85 ignition module. This feature makes future replacement coils more available as the 84-85 coils are rare and hard to find."
Would I be able to run an 87 ecm setup with that product?
