My 87 GN started to run a little ruff after the first time at track and about a week later car started to run ruff and shut off a few time and now it wont start at all . So i want to check fuel psi and I know from the mitchell manual it should be 26-51PSI so when I check it and if it is to low how will I know if it is the pump or regulator? any help will help out alot and Thanx, Jake

should be roughly 43 line off and increase 1 pound for every pound of boost. example if your running 45 psi fuel pressure and 15 pounds of boost wide open should be 60 psi

so when i check fuel press. i should or should not disconnect fuel line off of regulator?

No No No....don't disconect the fuel line. haha. I am sure you meant the 'vacuum' line that runs into the top of the guage. Generally, you should disconnect the vacuum line and set to your chips recommended pressure. For most, that is around 42 to 45, with vacuum line off.

If you have a stock regulator, there is no adjusting, so trouble could be the reg or pump. Best to upgrade to an adjustable anyway, so start there. Then if still no pressure, well, you needed a new pump anyway, and now you can adjust the pressure for future mods.

You got it.
