Anyone Know Just How Many Of These Were Made In 87? I Know Theyre Supposed To Be Rare But Anyone Have The Figure?

how about this bad a$$ one.. Every rare option on an 87 GN you could get! Power seat, Digital dash, Twilight Sentinel, Factory trunk kit, concert sound, and only about 50K on it. Bone stock.

I've got one. :)

My guess has always been 1 in 11 GN's.

That would be just under 1.9K for 1987.

Nobody knows for sure those option breakdowns aren't available on our cars.

Not that rare in '87 due to the high production in that year.

Mine's an astro-roof car too. I think there is a number for how many 87 Regals came with this option but unfortunately that number also includes the non-turbo cars as well.

I got one too  slides back and vents....got to love it while doing over 80 and looking at the stars

We sort of figured about 10 percent of the total manufactured came with the astroroof. I do want to point out though that one person talked about the vent. If this is the unit that has a pop up style flap, then this is actually not a C5F option but a dealer installed unit. Those are actually more rare than the factory C5F astroroof option. I love ours.

Yeah there were alot of regals with the astroroof, but how many grand nationals had it? Someone threw up like 260 of them at one time, but that number could have been pulled out of someones ass. Who knows. I have one too, and the weatherstripping around it is falling apart. Hopes its not a bitch to fix.

both my 84 and 87 gns have the factory astroroof. does that get me extra points when i get to grand national heaven? I have always heard that the t-tops are less desireable from a performance stand point because they crack at the top of the pillars due to torque stress, but I'm sure theres fixes for that. But does anybody know just exactly how much weight is added to a turbobuick with the factory astro roof option. I remember working in the junkyard as a kid, and had to pull out the whole astroroof unit of a buick regal, and that thing is one heavy dude. Has to add quite a bit of weight to the car. Which of course = not very desireable from a performance stand point.

The Astroroof option by itself wasn't what was rare, it was the Astroroof w/ pwr driver seat that made it rare. GM wasn't supposed to build these because of lack of headroom with the power seat option. The Astroroof droped the headliner down 2" causing the problem

Woo Hoo!!! both my gn's have both! I'm a big fan of being told my gn is more rare. It helps neutralize the pain thats created by my wallet getting thinner and thinner everytime I sink more money into them.

Anyone out there know? I know theres a GN registry, but I didnt find anything there....a total number of GN astroroof cars. Power seats or not. (I dont have power seats) When I sell this pig, it would be nice to tell the buyer how rare it is. It would help justify the ridiculous selling price. I get offers toi buy the car all the time, but when I tell them 12,000, they all look at me like Im on mushrooms.

My 86 GN has both, (plus all the other options) even more rare... I talked to the guys at gnregistry and they claim that there is no known info on the production numbers... Maybe someone at GM knows...

I'd like to know as well...
