the car was acting like it wasn't getting any gas, so my husband checked the lines and replaced the fuel pressure regulator. he says that the car is getting gas all the way up to the regulator, but then it stops. something about it isnt getting to the injectors. and when they try to start the car. you can smell gas really bad. the car will start and then die again like its flooding itself out. any suggestions?

If there is gas at the regulator there is gas at the injectors.

Sounds like it could be some kind of wiring/computer problem if it is first starting then flooding out. What happens if: first WOT, then start, and only let off the throttle to keep engine from reving to high?

Does it start?

Stock fuel pump? How old is it?

When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter?

Stock fuel pressure regulator?

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? What's the fuel pressure?

More info needed!:)

Where is the bad gas smell? Under the hood or out the tailpipe?

What mods have you done?
How long have you owned the car?
