Ok...I am getting my GN to where she needs to be. I have another issue though that I need some help with. Excuse me if this seems dumb, but I cannot get a straight answer.

I need to replace ALL the weatherstripping on my 87 GN T-Top. Except for the trunk, that seal is fine. However, I cannot wash the car without getting the inside wet. So I went to Kirbans, and there are like 6 or 7 sets of weatherstripping for my car. Which ones do I need to replace all of them. I know its gonna cost a lung, but the car is worth it.

And, do I need to use that 3m glue? I have heard some say to, others say just tuck it in along the grooves. I have no idea how to replace it, and the local GN guy here in town wont touch it. I need to get it done, and the first step is finding out what I need.

Any help is much appreciated!

weatherstrip

I just posted a question about 1A & the reply that I got was 1A was a good product. I did some searching and for the trunk seal you do not want to use the glue, just set it in the track. The one thing everyone stressed was to have a lot of patience. One person even suggested to test fit the weather stripping(i.e. roof rails, & doors) w/out any glue for a week. This will allow for some adjustment & then you can go back and apply the recommended amount of glue to permanently install it.

Tips from 1A automotive for removing old weatherstripping & installing new stuff:
