'95 Blazer fuel pump

My girlfriends blazer ('95 S-10 blazer, 4.3, 4x4) sounds like its got a sump and a big 'ole Aeromotive external fuel pump on it. I know Chevy's are notorious for having loud pumps, but I've also heard this is a tell tale sign it is going out. Should I be worried? We are taking a 20hr drive down to Tampa in 2 weeks... Should I be worried?

I would not worry about it..... that being said. you may want to have her carry a hammer so incase she goes to start it and she cant hear it prime she can give the tank a good whack in the center to help it a long (dont laugh it works)


oh and try to keep it fairly full as well.. 1/2 tank or more.

if you already replaced the fuel filter and it is still making noise i would change the pump.
