After installing the ATR 3in downpipe, I found a side note in the installing directions.
---Subject: DP 303wastegate & high boost actuator:control of the boost on the dp should incluse use of a bleed air device such as our CV 100A--"Dial-a-boost"rather than appling excessive force on the wastegatewith over tighten actuators or high boost actuator........ect.
Question-what is that all-about? Do I need to buy THE adjustable boost controler or use my adjustable wastegate actuator?
Where do you buy dial/remote boost controler or what every it called( since ATR is bellie-up now).
Thanks for the help

If it's an ATR DP with integral wastegate (not external wastegate) disregard the bleeder valve stuff. That applies to the ATR external wastegate.

the bleeder warning applies to std style wastegate

wait i'll say it so you can hear it

THE BLEEDER WARNING APPLIES TO THE STD STYLE WASTEGATE !!

the adjustable arm should only be used to adjust the rod for the 1/8th in pullon
not to increase running boost as the added stress will lead to binding of the puck arm and possibly overboost
and atr downpipe are are known for sticking pucks due to the arm binding which is why the warning on HD actuators

many will tell you to add boost decrease the arm lenght but this also takes away from the wastegates ability to control boost

use a bleeder or rjc boost controller if you want to increase boost

precision sells the vari boost controller which is a modified air pressure regulator like used on most paint spray guns

I can hear just fine - but I do stand corrected. I had to re-read the post. You are abosolutely correct about putting the actuator arm in a bind.

You don't have the use the ATR dial-a-boost however. You can use any dial-a-boost such as Turbonetics or use the RJC setup or something similar.

1/8thin pullon????

Please explain the process;
"the adjustable arm should only be used to adjust the rod for the 1/8th in pullon "
Because Monday the class will be installing the adjustable wastegate actuator and doing some fluid changes and intercooler cleaning.......

adjust the rod so that you have to pull it 1/8" to put on the down pipe arm

1/8th

Is the 1/8th of a inch --because the puck needs a "slight" amount of pressure against the t-housing at all time??

pullon

go external and forget about all that internal crap...you'll love your car 2 times as much. :)
