My motor is going out for a rebuild. I know these TRs arent a normal drop in procedure. what do i have to set in terms of IAC , MAF, etc... i am also downgrading Turbo from a 49 to a stock one and im upgrading to a 3000 stall. i am running with ford blue tops and a 3.5 maf w translator. i am just really worried about tunning it.. what do i have to worry about getting this car runnng. eventually ill get the car to DynoTech but i need to get it just so i can have a car again.. thanks in advance... Jeff

Why are you going down on turbo size & up on stall speed? These cars about the combination & it looks like you might be going in the wrong direction. A fresh rebuild with a TA49, stock D5 converter locked up, Blue tops & a good tune should run real well.

good deal...

i picked up orangew stripe and a stock turbo for about 400.. both little mileage.. im on a ight budget and would rather pay for quality machineist... my old 49 was completely shot and would cost at least 600... its a daily driver for me and im lost w/o the car... so id rather get it on the road than pay for ins and garage for nothing... i figure id get the converter while its out to save trouble and headach later... i know its a lil backwards but the money tree is bare...

Being in highschool, i feel your pain on the money for car modding and Ins. I would say that the single most important sensor to set when putting the engine in is the cam sensor, there is info on the precedure on gnttype.org , i bought a sensor setting tool from postons i believe for like $30 it helped a large amount to find the open window. I used a Tech-1 from my work (a dealership) to auto learn the IAC, also make sure to check the clearence of the crank sensor is enough. while your at it make sure your TPS is at the right voltage specs.
