Aftermarket temp gauge

Ok so my new autometer water temp gauge came in and looks simple enough but still a bit confused as to location and how to wire it up I did some reading but still have questions I took a pic of what I'm guessing it where the new gauge sender goes which is where the idiot light sensor is at with the red arrow the green arrow is a green wire plug going into it if I replace the sender what happens to the green wire plug connector? Will it affect scan master temp readings? Or am I completely off on this install ? Looking for any good help thank you

green goes to the idiot light thats all, just leave it unplugged
unplug and unscrew the sender switch and screw in the sender unit for the autometer gauge

How many gauges can I tap into the console shifter light for gauge lighting ? I have 3 gauges is it ok to tap all 3 into that 1 wire ?
