Many have run alcohol injection with unleaded pump gas with great success. Has anyone used alcohol injection with leaded race gas and if so did it improve drag strip performance or dyno numbers? Do the numbers show clear improvement due to the alcohol's cooling ability or for other reasons? Is there any down side to alcohol injection with leaded race gas? Would appreciate any information and thank you.

unless for some reason you cant run the boost or the timing to what you want with alky , putting in race gas will only further raise the octane and unless you increase boost or timing it will slow you down due to its slower burn rate .
now if your goals are higher than 30 psi and your combo will support that kind of power (your block is up to it) and you cant get there with alky alone then raising the octane with race fuel should help, but too much octane and you will go slower so going leaded race may not even be nescessary since you can get 100 UL
in your case you probably dont run an o2 or a cat so the leaded isnt a concern ,

Thanks Paul for your thoughts and comments. My thinking is that the alcohol would have a cooling effect on the inlet air temperature much like an intercooler. Its not the higher octane that I am seeking as I am using 117 octane ($9.50 per gallon) when racing and 112 on the street or when driving to and from the the race track. It is my understanding that increases in hp and torque have been observed on the dyno when using alcohol injection with race gas over just race gas although I have not been able to confirm.

well i can't say for sure that this was the problem, but i went to the OK buick/ford shootout this past weekend and all they had was 91 octane at the pumps, so i out 8 gallons of 110 in there instead. The car was off quite a bit and could only muster an 11.87 at 115. The ET is more of a problem ive been having with just making power in the 1st 60 ft but the mph is off a bit considering it was awesome cool temps and a nice tail wind. Unless you are pushing it hard like others have said i would just stick to 93.
