Anybody here know anything about allisons. I'm building a truck with a hopped up 5.9 Cummins. Trying to decide what tranny to go with. I'm thinking 540, 542, or 545. I don't know the differences in the 3. Motor should be 800 ft-lbs torque or more. Can a 500 series be made to handle that much or will it take a 600 series. Thanks

contact lonnie,i think he is familiar with them.i dont see a problem but i can count the amount i have done on 1 finger.

Thanks Chris. I had talked to Lonnie about it before.Trying to gather some more if if possible.

BD Performance in Canada does a lot with the Dodge and Allison Diesel transmissions. We're starting to see alot of 'em going pretty fast here up north where pickups are the primary transportation .

A friend just had a new converter and other mods done on his '03 Duramax. He figures an honest 400 RWHP out of his TOW RIG!

Thanks Adam . I will have to call them. I read some of the diesel message boards but i never hear of anybody useing allisons. Seems they all want to spend $3000.00 - $4000.00 on the stock autos or they run 6 speeds. I thought surely somebody on board here would know allisons.
