Hi
I just put a rebuilt alternator on my '86 yesterday. The pulley that is on the alternator is smaller (2.25") than what was on the original (2.5"). The alternator is stamped 120A
I left the one that came with it (the new alternator) on it and installed it that way.
So, I get 13.9 volts at idle which is ok with me but should I change it, I do not know if it is underdrive, nor do I need underdrive.
Correct me if I am wrong but a smaller driven pulley (the Alt pulley) will turn the alternator faster?!
Thanks,
Bill
