I ran 12.19 at 114 with 18 degrees timing and 21lbs. I am going to the track tomorrow and running 26 degrees. and 21lbs. Anybody have any guesses on what it might pick up? Just curious what to expect.

TIA

What are your 60' foot times, with that MPH you should be seeing a slight faster ET then you are already..

On that run 1.799. The TTA is all stock except for 50lb inj and GT3255 turbo. Open dump pipe. Launches pretty slow. I need to work on that.

I dont know how much it will pick up but I would be happy with that time with 18 degrees and 21psi. Must be a really good running car.

I was surprised the car was that fast for what is done to it. I will post on Wednesday the results. I will run it at 21lbs at 26 degrees to see what 8 degrees of timing does. But I plan on running 22-23lbs and 26 degrees. I have only had this car to the track 3 times. So I am still playing with it. The car ran like crap when I got it.

Stock DP but I have an open dump in place of the cat. Still have stock cat back on it. The car picked up 2-3MPH by opening the dump.

Didn't want to hear that. :( I would hope it would pick up something. 8 degrees is a big jump. But it is what it is. I will find out tomorrow. :p

That is why I am running 116. :) Should be no knock with 116 and 23lbs and 26 degrees.

me

I was running pump gas w/ xylene, no knock at all, 25lb of boost, and 27 deg. timing. Blew the head gasket out of the block completely around #6 cyl. but it did not knock at all. The pressure alone blew the gasket.

the pressure you speak of was detonation. i wouldnt recommend trying that again

Many people say that there is more to gain with boost than with timing.

Thanks for posting some results with just a timing change.

How many runs did you make on 18*?

Changed from 24 to 26 timing on my GN went from 125mph to 127 this is at 23lbs hot weather runs 116 gas GN1 heads 216 212 roller.Sweet6 post your results ,best of luck dont forget the 116 :)

If just the pressure blew it out, it must have been damaged prior. Alot of folks will make a tuning mistake or something will happen and get alot of knock but nothing happens to the motor. But what happens is everytime this happens that gasket starts eroding and getting weaker and weaker til one day it pops for no reason. Well, now you have the reason.
