I saw one today on the way to work riding down the highway, but wasn't sure what it was at the time. Looked like he had a little custom 'pro-steet' work done to it. Cool bike none the less!!

Anyone here past/present/future owner? KZ1000, KZ900, etc... Turbo or not?? Pics, video's, stories??

KZ 900, had some fun with it, 1st owner was Scott Parker (HD dirt track champ) I bought it off his cousin. Old lady pulled out in front of me, I dumped it, Squished it under car, Sold for parts.

The End

hello; I've been involved with KZ's and a little with the Z1's what do you want to know.
They are inline 4 cylinder air cooled MC's that can run with great dependablity
and speed.
I have a KZ that's been a project of mine for to long and hope to complete after my HD.

I'am no expert but go on line there's alot of imfo. there.

i learned to ride on my cousin's KZ900 drag bike in ealy 80's. he's still racing with it these days also very quick bike for its time.

A blast from the past. About 1981-2 I had a kz900 z1-r. It had an aftermarket turbo and work done by (Redline)? Bought it from a local, after a few blast down the highway I thought it would be a good ideal to sell it... In the day it was kind of ridiculous. I have never been afraid of much but it was stupid fast.

'79 KZ1000 back in the mid '80's. Loved that bike, smooth and powerful. It was set up for drag racing by the previous owner. Had to sell it before I got really stupid on it:frown:

KZ 1000 LTD, KZ 900 , KZ 650, and a Speed Tripple 2-stroke!!

Drag raced KZ's for years then moved to Harley Davidsons. I worked as a metal fabricator at a custom bike shop in wisconsin and built 2 Harley's from scratch and then moved into the Buicks! Ohh wait, You didn't ask for life stories just bikes! Sorry....;)

Well, I've been through the internet and YouTube quite a bit today looking at them. With a lowered stance, maybe even an upgraded front end, and a decent seat they're a great looking little bike. There's a KZ750 for sale local to me that appears to be in great shapeand only $1k, but I'm thinking a KZ1000 would suit my size better...

My HD seems to be a non-stop project, as I'm always wanting more... What do you have going on HD-wise? As for a KZ, I'm thinking some minor mods, but more just a hop on and ride wherever, whenever kinda thing!!

PS- I'm looking for an early 90's FXR if you know of any deals!!

I had an '84 KZ750 for over 10 years. I enjoyed that bike. It was fast enough for me and my wife enjoyed riding with me on it. I got too busy with kids and work so it sat so I sold it. Last year I decided to get back into riding but I didn't want the fuss and noise so I got a new Suzuki Bergman 650. Easy to ride and quiet.

Uncle had a 750 Triple back in the day. 2 tone Lime/Evergreen, what a unique sound and performance for the day.

I've got an '04 ZRX 1200R Kawasaki, a restored '72 Kawasaki 750 H2 triple 2 stroke, and a '84 Yamaha RZ350 2 stroke twin. You should check out the ZRX 1100 and 1200 models made from 99-05. They are bullet proof IL4's too and very reliable bikes. $2500- $4500 price range. Old KZs are very nice too though the early Z1s bring mega money.

JOHNDEEREGN- sounds like your uncle had a '74 H2B model as that was the only H2 that came in those particular colors. I have a good friend in LA with one of those fully original and a World of Wheels award winner. Nothing like the snarl and howl of an old H2! I can make animals and livestock run just with the intake howl!!

hello ladies and gentleman; As far as HD I have a 77 FXE that been mine since 79 and I got the engine done (stroked to 88") big front end, going to 5 gal. Fat Bobs, 5 sp. w/kicker. Complete re do and this has been going on for too long also.

hello people; I just remembered that there was a turbo kawi 1000 as already said but there was talk in the day that the turbo would not sut down right away so if you were powering thru a turn it would be extremly dangerous.
It was probably BS but I wanted to share.
There were other older turbo bikes out there but I think the kawi has the biggest cc's that was mass produced that is.

Back in 76 or 77 a friend bought a KZ750 LTD that looked great and would fly (for the time). I alway loved Kawasakis and really wanted a GPz1100 in the early 80's but the insurance was going to cost the same as the bike, per year, so it never happened. I remember seeing a Kawasaki bike in the mags about then called the Eliminator, or something like that. Was supposed to be a GPz engine (1100 or 1000, I think) but on a frame that was more drag friendly rather than carving corners. Anyone know any more about them? The magazine writer went on and on about how even a novice rider could almost equal PeeWee Gleason's 1/4 mile time so I figured that was the bike for me :-). Never saw one on the street, though.

Never owned one but rode a few back when new. Those were great bikes. Did own one of those 2 stroke triples. Only street bike I owned. Too many close calls on the street so I stuck to dirt bikes. Got out of 2 wheelers about 20 years ago.

Owned this "72 H2 750 triple when I was in high school at 17 years old , 31 years ago . It was REAL stupid fast , nothing around in the neighbourhood could touch it , use to eat KZ900's even ones with big bore kits .they couldn't touch it out of the hole . Love those old Kawasaki's !!!!!!! :)
