Just got mine today and was wondering if anybody encountered any problems when installing? Any problems feeding wires through the firewall? Any problems with wire lengths? Any ideas on where to mount the XD-16? Any tricks or prime locations to "mount" the module? just any advice really? If you could post some pics that'd be cool too. TIA

I just got mine as well and I just fished the wire harness through the firewall hole right by the driver side valve cover. I'm keeping the black box inside the engine compartment under the coilpack. I don't think there should be any problems doing that. I also mounted my sensor and bung at about the 12 o clock position on my THDP about 10-12 inches away from the sweep of the bend (basically just in front of the ac box). I haven't got to wiring it up yet. Gonna do that tonight.

Here is what I did

One thing I changed from the directions was where the lc-1 controler is located. They say mount it under or outside the car. I did'nt like that so I relocated it under the consel inside the car. I will not take all the credit for this idea, a friend of mine Glen aka (DCEVING6) did his this way and gave me the idea. I mounted the wideband sensor in my test pipe. It worked out very well. The wire comes off the sensor and up to the very tail end of the trans. Glen said he got the plug through the shifter cable boot but I had to drill a 1/2 whole right next to the shifter where the sensor can comes through. (I had to remove the consel to do this obviously.) Got a box of different size gromets from the auto parts store to fill the whole. I ended up using two different size ones together. One inside the other. The trick with getting the smaller gromet on the wire is to slice one side of it open with a razor blade. May even have to do this with the bigger one but once they are installed you never even notice the slice. over all a simple install but I took my time and soldered up the conections. It works awsome with the pro. Your going to love it. No offence to don 3d. I'm sure he is very professional in his work, this is just another way. Good Luck! Let us know how your custom install goes.............

Hey that's ok...I just took the lazy way out. I didn't want to get under the car :)

If everyone did something the same way, this would be a boring place.

Hey i will probably take the "LAZY WAY OUT" also ;) :D - for one i have a column shift car.... secondly, despite what the instructions say, i cant imagine spending all that money on a precision piece of equipment to just "tie wrap to a frame rail, exposed to the elements. So i will probably do [like everyone else] and mount it 12-15 inches from the bend.... the only thing i might do is make a heat sink or buy the bung extension as i know our cars exhaust probably gets alot hotter than the recommended 900º F.
