I picked up a clean 85 Cutlass for cheap that I plan to clean up, maybe toy with a little and then sell for a small profit. The body is straight as an arrow but the vinyl top has a lot of cracks on the top. The sides are ok but are dry also. I feel that it would be best to replace the top but need to know if anyone has done this.
I have done some upholstery work before but not much. I am willing to give it a try.
Another possibility is to pay to have it done but what has that run you guys that have had it done?
Not really interested in stripping and painting it as I know it wouldn't match, would look weird in another color and would be much work to make it look nice. Then again I know a couple painters who might be reasonable.
Suggestions? Opinions?
