I changed my oil and realized how crappy the elbow and oil fill are on the GN. I put out a post and someone replied that many use a breather.

I was at the local shop and saw a K&N Breather for just under $20. Has anyone used a K&N? Would it really be an different then the ones the vendors sell?

I've had a Kenne-Bell setup on my T for 12 yrs and it is way better than stock. You could probably find a K&N locally just make sure it will fit.Are you putting on a different fill tube? Or just putting it in the valve cover by itself? Do you have your other valve cover vented too?

Jay,

I will let you know today. Who makes the Kirban ones? I just don't want to end up buying a Kirban and finding out it is the same as the K&N down the street that costs $18.00

The K&N breather I was debating on does not have a filler. IS that a problem or would you just have to pop it off every time to add oil?

My other valve cover is not vented either at this time. Would that need to be vented as well?

If your Buick is still stock, there is a breather/pipe that goes from the front of the pass. side valve cover that connects to the inlet bell of the turbo. You can put a breather in the valve cover, or just remove the pipe, point the factory breather thing opening down and run a 5/8 heater hose off of it to underneath the car. Be sure to plug the hole on the turbo inlet bell as well. If there is alot of oil in these areas, you might want too clean your intercooler.
