I was at the machine shop Friday and one of the other customers who has a Monte SS saw my Art Carr pan. He commented about an article he saw in a magazine about drilling the rear divider with return holes. If you ever saw one it is sectioned with a big metal wall running from one side to the other. Supposedly according to him they drilled holes in this wall to allow hot fluid to flow back to the pan. My only question is wouldn't this also allow fluid to slosh backwards when launching? I noticed a difference all around in fluid temps, shifts, flair, etc... when I put this pan on with a 700R4 bottom feed filter over the stocker. I was thinking of doing this mod if anyone had experience or has seen the article explaining the reason for it. If not I will just leave well enough alone.

 I have a deeper finned aluminum pan and it didn't have a divider in it??? Hope thats not bad.

I am by no means a trans expert so those that know chime in:

The area at the back which I think they call the accumulator has a divider in front of it that more or less surrounds it. This guy said hot fluid lays in this pocket and in the article they drilled holes to let it return. It may not actually make a seal at the top (in other words it isn't high enough to seal to anything) but fluid may still stay there rather than drain back quickly or until it overflows the pocket. Make sense?
