Does Anyone Know How To Test Atr 7th Inj. I Don't Think It's Working Bought It Used Wondering If I Got ------

When ATR came out with this there wasn't many injectors avavable for the Buick. Which is why you will hear that it is Old tech, most people just go with larger injectors now.
Is it installed on the car?
Did you have instruction on how to properly install the unit?
Do you have the single LED that starts flashing about 14psi (it is adjustable)?
If installed, he is one way you can test it.
Remove the injector from the bracket.
Plug the hole on the bracket to prevent vac leak.
Leave the harness on the injector. Put the injector into a plastic bottle so that any fuel sprayed will be caught.
Use an air pressure source of not more than 30# to supply the pressure switch in the black box. You should hear the switch click. There is a hole with small black plug on the box. Inside the hole is the pressure switch that is adjustable to control when the 7th injector starts to spray.
Crank the engine and let run at idle.
If the PS is made and is good then the LED should be blinking and the injector should be plusing and spraying gas.
If you need more information, drop me an email. turbogn@nc.rr.com

How much did you pay for it?

Thank You So Much For The Help!!!! I Don't Remember How Much I Paid I Want To Say Around 100.00 I Bought It A Few Months Ago No Directions But Seemed Easy Never Have Seen The Red Led Blink At All, I Will Test The Way You Said But Can't Until This Weekend , Reason I Bought The System Is Because I Can't Get The Car To Stop Detination Around 20psi Spits And Sputters At High Boost! Thought More Fuel Would Help!! Thanks Again For All You Help!!!!!!!!!!!

If the unit is hooked up right and you haven't seen the LED blink, then it isn't spraying any fuel.

Sounds like you have something else wrong instead of lack of fuel.
How do the car run at 16-17psi? What grade of gas are you using?
How is the ignition components on the car? This is the area I would look into the most.
IMO,I would suspect these parts before lack of fuel.
1.) Coil pack
2.) Ignition modual
3.) Plug & plug wires.
It can be many other items but these are the first ones that I would look at.

Do you know any other Buick people in your area? If so, you maybe able to get someone to swap a known good coil/ign unit to see if it helps.
If they have a Casper coil/ign tester then that is better.

Plugs & wires, if you have replaced them in several years would be maintainance items that need to be replaced.
Again just my 1cent.

Hopefully you're running either alky injection or 100 octane or higher gas at 21 lbs of boost!

I had a 7 and 8 injector in my GN when I got it and they works the way they should but one of the first things I did when I started to upgrade was to find a trash can and that is where the hole unit is, Up pipe, 7th and 8th injector and all

Thanks For All The Help Guy's!! No Alky But Did Try 110 Octane Did Not Seem To Matter, Plugs Are New Wires Are 10mm With Dvom They Show Good, Coil And Modg. Not Sure But Maby I Can Swap With My Friends, Thanks Again!! I Will Let You Know If I Find Anything! Any More Input Would Be Great!!!

More fuel might help....But, scan tool data would be more helpful in focusing your attention logically. Does scan tool data show you are lean....?

I'd start with a fuel pressure gauge and confirm 20PSI of fuel pressure rise from baseline pressure for 20 PSI boost (use after market gauge, of course).

If you have adequate fuel available, turn the boost down until you have things operating correctly! Begin with the basics you've mentioned and go on through the coil, ignition, MAF, etc. before you add the 7th injector. Car should run correctly before adding to your problems with an unknown device like that used 7th injector. Just a thought. :)

Thank You For Your Input!! Fuel Press Does Rise As Boost Goes Up, Scan Tool Does Show Lean O2 Drops To 0 Volts, I Will Look At The Spark Retard I Gess I Was Just Assuming It Was Retarding The Timming But Not Sure Thanks Again For More Great Tips!!!!!!! Looking Forward To Getting This Thing To Run Properly!

it would seem to me that the o2 sensor has took a crap. How long has the o2 sensor been in the car? if it's not been changed in a while go get a new o2 sensor hell there only 15-18 bucks.

checking a coil pack with a DVOM is not a good whay to check the spark output. The only thing a DVOM will tell you is that the coil pack is shorted out or not. Swap out with a know good coil pack. Wires too!

Also what are the Maf grams a sec show on the scan tool- at that boost level you should be close to 255. If the the maf #'s are reading low then try swapping out to a known good maf.

also what size injectors are currently in the car now?

please give a list of all the mods done tot he car so we can look to see where the weak link could possibly be.

Some Of The Mods Are 42.5 # Injectors, Stage 2 Turbo, Slight Port Work On Heads, 30 Over Pistons, Lee Waste Gate, Front Mount, Ported Throttle Body, No Cat Conv, 7th Inj, Pcv Removed, Bigger Cam But Don't Remember What It Is, Thanks Alot Guy's I Really Want To Get This Thing Running Properly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My car was doing the same thing and it was the coil pack. Put on a new delco unit or test with a friends. Mine showed good according to the resistance but still was bad. I could drive normally fine but over 15psi it would miss and stutter. Hope this helps.
