I have replaced both motor mounts about three months ago and I will try to adjust the motor and mount alignment Sunday to try and get clearance. My question is: anyone that has installed the ATR headers, have you had the same problem? If so what did you do? I have pictures that I can email.
Thanks

ATR headerz??

I think ATR has specific instructions for loosening the motormounts and letting the engine settle.. did on mine, some yrs ago.
Also, you don't say how many miles are on the car, but it could be that the cont arm bushing is cooked and the arm is up in the rear, thus causing the interference.
It could be too, that the turbo has twisted some where it mounts on the header flange, and that will drop the DP down some.
Note! ATR used to recommend an added support to the turbo to the engine to take the load off the header.
Mine was not sufficiently braced and the turbo caused the header to twist so much, I had to cut it up and relocate the collector..IF these are not new, they may be warped!!

Brand new headers the car has 80k.
The DP is not hitting it it is the crossover pipe and tha turbo is not installed yet. I contacted ATR and emailed pictures.

Mine is really close...about 1/4" clearance but never been a problem and I've had the headers for about 10 years now...I put new motor mounts in last year but it didn't make a difference on the crossover/CA clearance...

Mine hit when installed. They were new and my car had similar miles to yours (75K).

Got the same song regarding repositioning the motor mounts, settling the engine.... and the added ones "Was your car in an accident?" and "How many shims are present on the crontrol arm shaft" Bla Bla Bla.

Bottom line, they didn't fit my car. Always felt I must have been the "Odd Man Out", however, I didn't have the benifit of the web and this site for "Second Opinions". I'm beginning to believe that they are just not the best fitting systems out there.

Very dissapointing when you consider how much they cost! I wish I had just sent them back... nothing but problems after I managed to wedge them and the matching poor fitting cat-back/mufflers/and down pipe in. All ATR items. The only vendor I knew about 7 or so years ago which I had trusted up to that point.

When they cracked (I'll admit, they lasted longer than I would have thought!) I put some Postons on and put an end to that problem. They seem pretty strong, but they just didn't fit right.

Weird as it may seem some of the points you stated are valid. Accidents, twists, etc... change the shape and all cars can/are different. ATR gives a nice sheet for solving these problems which some vendors give nothing. I have them on my car with no problems.

wh1-Denver,

Send me you pictures. If you haven't done it already I also suggest you eliminate the band clamp on the x-over and have it welded when you know the exact location for attachment. Got a few other pointers for you too.
