Battery smokin !!!!

so the min I connect the battery it starts sparking, smoking. I checked the wireing and i cant seem to find my short. hopefully this has happened to some else that could help or im just over looking sth simple. just put in new motor.

no mini, just the min i connect the terminals it happens.

probably get laughed at for asking but are you sure you don't have the pos and neg. reversed? :biggrin:

Is the connection at the starter clean? The connections are where they should be and nothing is shorting out? How about the wire going to the alt. Is shorts there?

I am thinking some wire got pinched. look carefully at the positive cable and the wires from the starter - did they get between the block and trans??? - it gets tight near the trans dip stick area - also as mentioned ALT wire - is it in good condition and free of the bracket that bolts to the block?
