I have 2 of my custom designed oil cooler brackets ready that fit in the left and right fender well that allow you to use a 8x11 oil cooler and an electric fan. The scoop and bracket assembly are made of Aluminum. What should I paint them with that will last?

Por-15
Rubber Undercoating
Whatever good spray paint?

I used Eastwood alluminum blast. It holds up pretty good. I have used it on my intake and valve covers.

POR-15 is the most dureable but is a pain to work with, apply, and clean up.

You can get nearly as good results for this use, by first priming with a "self etching" spray can primer like SEM. Then topcoat.

Self-etching primer seems to make a big difference in adhesion of paints. It's become my preferred primer when painting small parts that don't need nearly the durability or corrosion resistance of POR
