Do I have to pull the lower radiator hose? Its near impossible to get a hand in there...is it the unit with a three-prong plug? Hopefully I'm looking at the wrong one

I had to pull lower rad hose to get it out :( You might be able to sneak a wrench down in there once the connector is off, but I didnt have much luck

Just loosen up the lower radiator hose at the water pump and move it to the side. Pull off the connector, use a socket and a long extension. presto.

I believe that requires the special GM sender socket, available at Pep Boys.

Or you can try some channel locks on it.
