best wires

Everyone has their own taste, but Ive always preferred MSD on all my cars. Although the mallory pro-sidewinders were damn good on my 70 cougar..back in....1989. Damn Im getting old. Given the almost impossibility of changing the plugs on that car (4V 351 Cleveland), I had to pull on the wires instead of the boot to get the wires off the plugs. The wire would always pull out of the boot and everything would fall apart. I went through several different brands until I got to the sidewinders. Those things were bulletproof and made very nicely. But I have MSD's on the GN. Really low ohms.

I've had 2 sets of aftermarket wires on my car for 17 years now.

Originals for one year, they work(ed) just fine.

Kenne Bell Turbo Red 8mm wires for 10 years until I pulled a boot off (my fault) the end of one wire.

I use those for my spares and to check stuff on other cars etc.

And now I use 10mm red Magnecores on the car, been on 7 years now. :)

Daily driver.

Key is to use silicone paste on the boots to keep them lubed and check the plugs 3 or 4 times a year so they don't get the ends stuck on the insulators.

Just my .02.

I vote for Magnacores. Had them for years as previously mentioned and the red color looks excellent with the black GN :)

O.E.M. General Motors brand :D

On various cars over the years, they've been the most reliable and best overall quality for me. YMMV.

I run the Quad air Red Armstrong ones, i have had very good luck. They have real low resistance to.

hey can i get part numbers from you guys TIA ;)
Here is Jegs MSD part number,THey say priced to low to post in the internet
121-3186-9 Buick Grand National 3.8L V6, 1986-87

We have been using the Magnecore for years now. I carry them on the shelf in 8,8.5, and 10MM.

I run the Quad air Red Armstrong ones too- great price/performance/fit.
Can't beat it!

My exerience with the magnacores. If you check plug and or change plugs alot the plug end loses its ability to grab the plug(In other words they dont snap on anymore) The MSD wires i currently run have not run into this problem.
Summit sells the MSD wires for 60.88
Thats a damn good price

I have the 10mm Magnecore wires too, been on the car for 7 yrs. I just keep dielectric grease in em every once in awhile so they don't stick to the plug.

Another Delco user here. Plus I'm too cheap to buy the nice ones.

I just grab the boot with some pliers and crush it a tad, so the connector grabs snugly again. I had to do this on my MSD's. But I did buy them used off an 85 GN, and even cut and trimmed them to fit mine, and even put on some plug ends off another set of plug wires. :D

MSD all the way

Same here, though I buy the wire in bulk and make my own. Very low resistance, I just made a new set for this season and all 6 tested between 93-98 ohms

HTH,
Steve
