i want to get a set of drag radials for my 87 gn, it looks like they only come in 235 or 275,will the 275's fit my stock rims and in my wheel wells or should i go with the 235

I have done just what you have suggested and used the 275/60-15 drag radials on the stock GN wheels. They fit just fine with no rubbing and hooked pretty good... I was able to launch at 8-9 lbs. boost. let it rip!!! TBF

Iam running 275/50/15 and mine rubbed but i also put them on weld pro stars and i think i screwed up on the B/S but tires look great nice a beefy at this size makes the car look a lil more meaner and they work well after being heated up.

Rubbin' radials

I just put 275 BFG drag radials on my '87 GN, stock wheels, and the passanger side rubs the frame when making left turns, and smokes significantly when doing 80 mph on the highway in a curve. I'm gonna try putting 5/16" spacers on tomorrow, and I'm ordering suspension and urethane bushings to stop the flex, maybe box the control arms as well.

i just ordered my draglites, for the rear 15x8 w/ 3.5bs. going to try 275/60's on them hopefully they wont rub.

WS6

WS6 you will be ok. I ran the same tire with a 295/50/15 15x8 with 3.5 b.s. an it was fine so i know yours will be ok. Going to a 15x10 with 4.5 bs with a BFG DR on a 315/60/15 should look pretty good!!!!!

As far as the rubbibg goes... my car came with an open rear and I think they used a thinner drum than the cars with a posi.....
I am not sure about this but my car is all original and I have no clearance issues running 275/60 size tires on my stock wheels.. I also upgraded to solid lower control arms with poly bushings so I don't know if that makes a difference?? TBF
