I'm about to order: BF Goodrich g-force t/a Drag Radials 2. Is this a good tire for street-only driving, will it fit my stock rims 87GN, and what are the chances it will rub? Thanks.

I Just bought BF Goodrich KDWS Z rated tires for my GN.

Not only do they look off the hook, but the car rides so much better....I cannot even begin to tell you!

Good luck

i'm not sure where you are getting the tires
but tirerack.com has 102$ a tire for those in the 275/50r15 size check it out if you havent already.

275/50 BFGDR's will likely rub the frame with stock GN Steel Wheels. When mounted on T-type aluminum wheels they usually will work with only minor frame rubbing in corners.

I like the 275/60 BFGDR's size better for stock rim widths. They will hook and wear better and for street driving, the tread depth when new is about 2 times as deep than the 50's. These are slighly narrower than the 50's and will rub the frame less and/or require a smaller spacer than the 50s.

Can I just use spacer with the 275 50 15 on stock rims. Were do you buy spacers. I know nothing about them. Chris

You can't use more than about a 1/4" spacer without replacing the lug studs, and 1/4" is pushing it. You can get spacers from most auto parts stores (special order), Mr. Gasket makes them in tons of sizes.

If this car is going to be street only, I'd suggest going with the KDW's or a similar dry/wet Ultra high performance tire (like the Bridgestone S03) instead of the drag radials. They'll last longer and work much better on wet pavement. I don't think you'll be wanting to pull 1.5 60' times off of stoplights. Good way to get arrested or in an accident.

I bought michellin pilot xgt's for mine. they were a little expensive but give a real nice ride as these cars don't exactly take the bumps like a caddy/kinda rattle your fillings loose is more like it. I also stayed with the stock size 215's. I guess it depends on what your going to do with the car on street/just cruisin'? Then the michellins are a great choice! they are available in the 235's as well.

275's never rubbed on my car but I have new springs and all poly bushings including body mounts and ... i made sure the body was 100% centered with the rear when I clamped it down. I have seen alot of cars that just rub on one side . Just means there old and need some attention.:D
