Has anyone used 1/2" ID hard line as a feed for the fuel line and say about 3/8" for a return? They dont have to be these exact sizes i was just wondering if anyone has upgraded the fuel lines using hard lines and AN fittings insted of steel braided lines. Thanks. Also, even though people are upgrading the bigger fuel lines, what are you guys doing for the line coming directly out of the tank? Does the tank need to be dropped and a bigger one installed? I hav'nt dropped it myself so i dont even know what would be involved. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot.

Hard line would be great. The braided rubber lines need to be changed out periodically. They degrade over time. Much more hassle to do, but bullet proof. Stay away from aluminum lines. Stainless would be nice. That way, when you convert to 100% methanol, you're set.

Whats so bad about aluminum besides corrosion? I can zinc the entire line before i put it on if that is the case. Also, it looks like summit only goes up to 3/8" line in stainless. Where could i find bigger?

Aluminum tubing is easy is bend and form, but from a safety stand point, is not the best material to use. Aluminum rubs through easily and in the case of an accident, fractures easily, turning your chariot into a rolling ball of fire. That is why the rubber lines are covered with stainless wire. Protection and safety.

I seem to recall that aluminum tubing for fuel lines is not allowed by NHRA. Check it out.

Makes sense. Any idea where to find stainless 1/2" ID and 3/8" ID?

I think im just going to go with the aluminum lines. No one seems to have stainless in the diameter i need at a decent price. I got one quote of 159 dollars for 20 feet and steel braided would be a better option at that point.

If we can find a larger filter in line I can get classic Tube to bend the factory style lines in larger tubing & follow the factory routing.

That might not work since when upgrading fuel lines it is because of high HP applications which run all sorts of different fuel pump set ups and fuel cell locations/setups. The stock bends will most likely not accomadate these types of applications. Thanks for the help as always, hell i may be wrong?

What is everyone doing for the fitting coming out of the tank? Is it worth it to drop the tank and put a bigger one in or sump it and do a fuel cell type set up for the feed and return or would it be better to just to a fuel cell?
