when i start my car up i usually get a little puff of black smoke right when it fires up. i also get some black smoke at wide open throttle. this has started in the last week or so. the smoke at startup......could this be caused by bad injectors or a leaky fuel regulator? is there a way to tell which one of the two? the regulator is 2 months old from accufab.

also my car take a little bit of cranking time to get started up when it is "cold". not sure if that is usefull information but ohwell.

intake valves. . . . . . . . . . . . probably never. another thing that may be helpful is that my fuel psi has been going a little crazy lately. fuel psi is set to about 41 line off 38 line on. whenever i let off the gas pedal from a WOT the fuel psi will sometimes drop dramtically. today it dropped to 28 and would eventually go back up to 35.

also a few seconds after start up (once the little puff of black smoke dissapears) the exhaust does not seem to smell rich. only at startup and WOT.

I had smoke at startup. Changed the valve springs and valve seals this weekend. The smoke is gone.
