Black smoke when I get on gas

Everytime I give my car enough gas to downshift hard, It sputers and blows black smoke out the exhaust...any idea what this is?

Well...................

..............if it has a cat converter on it that would be my first pick.

Second choice would be an overly rich condition...O2 bad, FP too high and the list goes on. HTH's

Most likely the MAF.

Could be the coil pack if it's okay up to when you get to boost then goes downhill form there.

Both parts should be in your spare parts bin to try and swap out.

Only take a half hour to test both.

This assumes the car ran okay at some point recently.
