I just decided to do a check on my car and my blm's are 105. So this is saying rich right? But...I took off the vac line to the regulator and they went up??? Wouldn't the opposite happen since it gets more pressure when you do that? I turned the static fp down to 38 and they still are at 105...I'm afraid to lower it any more then it is because with the line on then it's in the 20's:eek: These values have all been taken at idle since I don't currently have insurance on the buick (I dropped it since I didn't drive it anymore, but now that I'm selling my t/a I'm doing some maintenance work). Any help will be appreciated.

When you took the line off you also opened up a vac leak which would lean out the mixture enough to overcome the increase in static pressure. Try plugging the vac line with your finger and see if it still goes up. Visit the library section of t6p.com and get Razor's BLM page. I know the MAF sensor is high on the list of suspects. Basically you are getting too much fuel and/or not enough metered air.

Can be anything from bad MAF, bad injectors, O2 sensor, bad chip(wrong injector program), bad ecm, too high a fuel pressure. In that order.

Thanks MistaScott for the thumbs up ;)

Cheers.

I hate BLM's..

Thanks for the link and help. I just so happen to have an extra maf laying around so I'll switch that out and see if anything happens. Also orered injectors/chip so that's 2 more things on the list...I hate blms too

Oh, and forgot to mention that I got idle surge too  I don't know if this has anything to do with the above mentioned problems.

Mine surges too and I have high BLMs. I think that's just the engine's way of complaining that its mixture is out of whack.

Let us know what ends up being the problem; I'd like to get an idea of what the most prevalent causes of both high and low BLMs are.

alright...I'm gonna swap out mafs today and let you guys know what happens...I hope my spare is good too , lol.

Dont got hung up so much on what the fp reading goes to when you put the line back on. What you set your static fp (line off) is what is important. When you "boost", the fp starts at this #. The lower # you see when you put the line back on is under vaccum. This is easy to see and understand if you ever put a gauge on that shows vac and boost. As vaccum lowers and moves towards pressure (boost) the fp is raising moving towards the static setting (i.e. boost=0/vac=0: fp=43psi; boost=15: fp=58psi).
