quickly cut back on sodium is an idea (its Hereditary in the men in my family) other than that there is no real way but try this
1. eat dark chocolate
2. increase potassium intake
3. Ditch the Regal and Walk and exercise (kinds sucks sometimes:biggrin
walk to work one day or somewhere nearby
4. DRINK WATER!!! h20 is your friend plus the majority of your body is water
(i'm glad i paid attention in health and nutritio class:redface![]()
if they do put him on BP meds, probably the first med they will put him on is furosemide aka lasix(a diuretic), which will cause him to pee off lots of extra sodium and water, thus reducing sodium, blood volume, and blood pressure...
while drinking water is good, drinking lots of excess water may not be the best advice for someone with high blood pressure, as it could increase blood volume and thus blood pressure in the short term. fortunately the body is pretty good at regulating blood volume, and it wouldnt increase BP for long
