boost creep in 4th gear.

o.k., for the past 4 days i've been playing with the car. i have alky on it and the boost is 21-22 psi in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. when i hit 4th gear the boost ramps up to 24-25 psi and the car pulls even harder. i'm not complaining because it's not knocking, but i would like for the reverse to happen. high boost in 1,2, and 3 and low boost in 4. i put 6 turns in the rod and the stupid thing wouldn't budge past 22 psi. also, am i pi$$ing in the wind trying to run alot of boost on a stock turbo. yes, i had to take the 54 off because it ate some plastic from one of the couplers on the inlet pipe.

is my wastegate hole on the turbo to small or something?

Sounds like a wastegate hole. My stock turbo is doing it too, but I am waiting to upgrade turbos so i'll take care of it then.

Mine is running more like 19.5# in first and second, and then ramps up to 22 (100 octane Union76 no alky) no knock though.

Open the waste gate hole up to slightly less than 1"
.900" should do it. Make sure you get a larger puck for the elbo IF you dont have a TH or Mease down pipe.
