Boost diff in gears

Why do most chips set the boost in 1st/2nd to be # or 2 more than in like 3rd or 4th? ...my car does the opposite...3 # more in 3rd and 4th than in 1st 2nd...is that because of my exhaust leaks or what?

That's a simple one. There is more load in 3rd and 4th so you car can handle more boost in 1st and 2nd without pinging.
