Ok, here's the deal. I installed my AutoMeter boost gauge, and it's not working. It did work when I took it off months ago.
I ran the plastic vacuum line through a factory gromit in the firewall and "T'd" into the MAP line. I believe the "T" is a 1/8".
I carefully blew some compressed air into the guage, and it "boosted up" properly, so I think the gauge is still OK.
I disconnected the plastic line from the gauge and the MAP line and blew air through it incase it was clogged.
I though the gromit may be crushing the vac. line somehow, so I hooked the one end back up to the gauge and carefully blew air into it. Once again it boosted up OK.
This leads me to believe the guage is fine and the line is free of obstructions or cracks.
I unplugged the MAP line from the MAP sensor on the pass fender while the car was idling. There was plenty of vacuum at the end of the line.
I plugged it back in, and unplugged the line where it attatches to the thing in the heater hose. It had very little vacuum there.
When it's all hooked up and I take the line off the boost gauge, there is only a tiny tiny bit of vacuum getting through to the gauge.
What gives?
