Hey Everyone , just wondering what everyones opinion is on the Boost Vs. Timming issue on a stock headed and cammed motor with a fairly good size turbo CPT65 myself ,but somewhere near there in turbo size . Personal experiance would be prefered over theory. Thanks Im running a 21in first and 20 deg chip in all other gears Turbotweak chip now and i can run 20-21 psi on pump gas , i ran the boost up to 28 a few days ago w C 16 on the street but it was really hot and hummid out 90s and thick . Last night with high 60s cooler air it felt real strong on the pump gas and 20-21psi boost w no knock .

Get some alky. in there and turn it up.

23/21 Extender Extreme chip and 25-26 psi. boost. :)

I like boost over timing myself.

Both cars have the same timing, GN has a Turbotweak alky. chip.

Salvage i have a double fuel system on my car so i can switch to C 16 in seconds. I got the CPT 65 in hopes of running more boost , i ran 25 psi on my TA49 all the time 27 a few times but it didnt pick it up any i figured it was just beating the air to death at that point .

I like boost over timing myself but I think you need to find a good balance for your particular car...some cars run better with more timing less boost and vice-versa...IMO though 20-21 degrees isn't very much timing...for a street chip it's OK but not for racing...I run about 23 degrees in my street chip with around 20-22 PSI boost...104 uneaded octane...in my race car I run with 25-27 degrees timing...28 PSI boost...straight C-16...never get any knock on either car...I inadvertently(forgot to take it out) ran one run at the track with a street chip in...it had 18 degrees timing...I ran with 28 PSI boost and the car ran like crap...felt like a turd...I would say try some more timing...

The 21/20 chip is used for street use and Nitrous use , i ran a 21 deg Reds last time out with pretty good results . I have a 26deg Reds to that i can try but the car ran faster on the 21 deg chip , the 26and 25psi got me some knock maybe with the bigger turbo it will work better . I was trying an 18 deg chip but the car could barley spin the tires in the burnout box and was stalling the car out at the tree. I was using it with Nitrous and i determined it was too week for that even .

Come on everyone , Timming run and boost and a quick combo would be interesting along with 1/4 mile results
