Hello all,

Just wondering who's planning on going. I guess I'm just getting sick of winter so this helps me dream of warmer climate. I've heard a lot from the V8 crowd, but it doesn't seem to much from the V6 crowd. Or is everyone still looking to BG?

I started this thread on www.t6p.com as well in "The Sandbox".

I had thought about it, but will go to Norwalk and BG. I don't know too much about this BPG event. Is this the first year for it? Also, Sturgis is the week of the 9th to 15th, and may be going on a long roadtrip there:cool:

Only 350 miles from Philly. Sounds like a great weekend and half the distance of BG. Since I cannot make it to BG this year, this sounds like a great alternative.

Buick Performance Group's National event

to be held, August 12th thru 15th, at Quaker City Raceway. Salem, Ohio.
Southwest of Youngstown, Oh.(30 Min.)
Southeast of Cleveland, Oh.(1 hr.)

Racing, Super 8 & Quick 16 Pro Class, 3 Bracket & 3 heads Up Classes

We have been getting a very good responce from the racer's and car show Buff's for this event, I anticipate a large turnout of Turbo & V8 cars. there will be something for everyone to do and enjoy, the BPG is working hard to make this possible.
I have contacted over 200 companies for sponsorship and or support for the BPG event, and Yes it's starting to Look REAL good for all!

Bruce

P.S. You DO NOT have to be a member of the Club to enter the event, though we hope you eventually will join us, please consider this event in your summer plans, look forward to seeing you there!

I had to dig this one back up. Still trying to get a handle on how many people are heading to this event.

To be very honest, I've been reading the BPG website and I see a LOT of V8 cars, but it seems quiet in the V6 car coral. I haven't seen any banners here or on other sites advertising this show.

I know everyone needs to make their plans in advance for vacation time. So I'm trying to get the word back out.

So... who's going?

We are seriously considering it. Have blocked the calendar. It is a nice facility. I used to race there when I lived in Pittsburgh.

However for us it is hard to commit this early. Many things can happen, Family, work, car breaks, sell the car etc etc. Plus it is a long haul from South Florida. According to Map quest: 19Hrs 1193 miles.

We are going to BG for sure. Wish we could go to Norwalk.

Hey look,

Now there's a banner up advertising this event. Interesting. :)

when the BPG was jsut starting up a few years ago, i had heard that they were going to allow buick bodied OR powered vehicles, unlike the gsca that doesn't care what body you race, as long as it has a buick engine, is the buick bodied with different engines still allowed to run in this event, thanks a ton.

There will be a bunch of us there, including me :D We plan to setup there too.

It's a nice area & nice track. Pits have paved roads & nice grass, no stones to deal with. Burnout box is uphill, so street tires & no line locks do VERY well :)

GREAT club, GREAT people, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND all to come & join in the fun!

PS_ Best part it's only 25 min from our house! We hope to have a get-together / cookout / open house / ??? that weekend too. Chris Lyons is even closer & planning something, and we might combine forces & have more fun! This post doesn't show 2% of the people planning on going & running there, should be a good one!

PPS- Ignore any weather forcast when the time comes. This is Ohio, and for those who are not familiar with the weather here, they ALWAYS make it sound like it will rain & 90% of the time it doesn't. Norwalk this year was an exception to the rule, but could have easily been fine. If it looks iffy, MAKE THE TRIP. All else fails, great area to do all kinds of stuff.
See ya soon!

Anybody towing a trailer from MD/VA/DC

If anyone is going to the BPG nats and is towing a trailer, could you please contact me. PM is fine.

I have a fiberglass hoopd that I need to be transported up there and if you have a little extra room on your trailer, I'd really appreciate it. I'm driving my Buick up there and would rather not tow a trailer as well just for the hood.
