Im new to this site and have been reading some of the other posts and i'm hooked. I own a 87 Regal w/ttops in good condition but it lacks the 3.8 turbo engine. I saw an ad in the paper for a 87 gn convertible that needed some work. I went out to see the car and it needed major work to the body. The guy wanted $2500 for it but I told him it was only good for a parts car so he went down to $1500. The gn turned out to be a 84 t type, but the engine had all the signs of being out of an 86 or 87 buick, sfi intercooler #of bolts on oil pan. The car odometer reads 99500 .
I purchased the car since I taught it was a good deal since it had a good front clip, doors, and trunk lid and the engine sounds fine. The only downside is the top was hacked off. I want to transplant the turbo engine into my Regal but I need some advise on what to look for when rebuilding the engine. Should I rebuild to stock specs? Overbore? Please help.

The block should have the part number on it. I think it is on the back on the DS and the part number should end with '109'.

Someone here will have the pictures that are on www.gnttype.org showing what the stock engine looks like.
