OK---1090ss talked me into signing up here & this is my first attempt at an inquiry/message.
My 87 car has bumper fillers upon which the previous owner gobbed unpoished spray wax. I got some mild wheel cleaner & scrubbed forever as nothing else would remove it. Either the paint had already oxidized so bad (paint store's guess) OR my scrubbing of the wax goop dulled them.
I promptly put Nu-Finish back on them & they shined brilliant black & beautifully shiney...........for about 4 hours. Twice more...same thing. Is the paint toast or should I use a different wax? Nu-Finish is #1 but is a unique type of make-up than other waxes. Or is their some type of product that restores this paint problem on plastic? The paint appears to be there & shines well then turns almost gray after sitting. Any ideas?
