Yeah that's what I was going to say in regards to that news article. Burglars in my house with my family? Dead meat. Burglars in my neighbors yard, possibly already leaving the scene? Probably wouldn't bother unless my temper got the best of me.

I would never shoot them in the back unless they had hurt my family and even then i would just shoot out his knee caps.No reason to kill them.Plus how is he going to run away from bubba in prison:biggrin:. Robbing my neighbors house. I would just try to scare them and hold them there till cops showed up .that guy in texas overreacted.By the looks of those houses I would look like a criminal in that neighborhood. I am not racist but two black guys in that hood and in texas they dont stand a chance.They knew the chance they were taking. In all reality they had no clue what they were going up against when they stepped out that door. that guy said it looked like the one guys had a weapon. CYA is the name of that one. The guy that shot them should be given a medal and the keys to the city.

Guns are never a means of less-than-deadly force. If you fire your weapon it better be to kill someone because in any court of law that is what a weapon will be construed as. Shoot someone in the knees (if you can aim at someones knees running) is a good way to hit their femoral artery and kill them anyway. Besides, do you want the victim of your gunfire to be around to concoct his own version of events that could leave you penniless or in the slammer?

One thing you may NOT know:
The shooter was on the phone with a "911" operator for a little over 7 minutes. The police showed up AFTER the shooting.

The city is short on police officers. The police is overloaded with other crimes. Some murders have been covered up in the city as “dead”. Many of these are not investigated. Is the public to belief that this crime would really have been investigated? HPD does not have a very good reputation in general. From the top to the crime lab, etc. In the absence of the public for HPD to “Do the right thing” warrants “the right to bear arms”. This gentlemen should in fact be given a key to the city by the governor, with media coverage message; If you are in TX and decide to break into people’s homes and get shot/killed on the property, the home owner will get a medal of courage.

While I am sure that shooting these illegal scumbags was not easy for the guy, it is easy to see how this 70 year old pulled the trigger and shot “In the moment”, after repeatedly asking them to “STOP or I’ll shoot”. Next time a thug “thinks” they can break into your home and steal your crap, they will think twice.

Now, what if the thugs were startled in the home, would THEY have killed the owner or their family? What would make a thief think twice about breaking in, if the police has this as a “low priority”, AND, the shooter was in the phone with 911 for 7 minutes (!!!) and they never showed up! What does that tell you?

Scumbags are too stupid to "learn" from other scum, that robbing/murder/rape, etc, will get you killed.

I have "the" solution!

If a jury finds this guy guilty, I would love to have a "neighborhood break-in” party!

Here is how it works ……..
Neighbors get together and we sit on the front lawn. I bring the beers!
The home broken into belongs to someone who does not think that shooting a burglar on their property is justified. We all sit and watch a burglar go into the house, and we just watch them carry stuff out and wave to them.

Chuck - I somewhat agree with you. I'm fed-up paying my hard earned taxes for these people. My wife is Chinese and went through ALL the right channels to get her citizenship, no short cuts were taken, she pays taxes just as I do, and she's even fed up.

What we need are politicians, who have the balls to say enough, is enough. The problem is, we don't....so, this BS will always be around.
